Welcome to Galar
Pokemon Sword and Shield is the first new region since I started my channel in 2017. A full new region on the Nintendo Switch and I was very excited for it. An emphasis on cooperative joint battles, extremely rare pokemon and much more.
I made over 180 videos on Sword and Shield, Tips & Tricks, Mechanics, Updates on the Max Raid Dens when they were posted, and much more. This game and my approach to it was what I’ve been looking forward to as a collaboration of the 2 segmented audiences I’ve had for so long.
This is also the game that I started to understand the RNG and advanced mechanics and found a niche of explaining these complex concepts in a easy-to-digest way.
Right before the launch of this game my fiancé and I broke up, and I just poured myself into my work. The 47 days between launch and the end of 2019 my channel got over 34 Million Views and over 260,000 Subscribers.
I love this game, and the community that was built up around it.
Isle of Armor
Like Breath of the Wild, Sword and Shield released DLC in two parts, the first being the Isle of Armor. A new sub-region to explore with the whole map being one large explorable region similar to ‘The Wild Area’ in the base game.
This expansion also brought the ability to farm items that would allow you to enhance your pokemon for casual or competitive play and also a 1/1000 chance to get pokeballs that have been lost to time.
This released Summer 2020, at a time that many people couldn’t leave the house and enjoy the summer, so it was a little bit of a nice escape.
The Crown Tundra
The Crown Tundra released holiday 2020 and brought a new and very exciting way to encounter previous legendary pokemon far superior to how Ultra Sun and Moon handled it. We also saw the introduction of our first regional variant legendary pokemon of the Kanto Birds.
I don’t have much else to say about this. Unlike BOTW’s DLC how it seemed so segmented, this was just one continuous experience of this game. The base game+DLC easily became my favorite pokemon game since Heart Gold & Soul Silver.
